I’m a psychotherapist based in Chelsea and online, specialising in childhood trauma, complex family relationships, estrangement, disability and chronic health conditions.
I have ample experience of working with anxiety, depression, loss and relationship difficulties. I often work with international or highly mobile people.
I’m a psychodynamic psychotherapist with an empathic outlook, combining the rigour of psychoanalytic understanding with a warm and thoughtful approach which meets you where you currently are.
You may be feeling stuck or overwhelmed by specific events or circumstances, or you may be unsure what’s wrong. Together, we can explore and better understand your experience, allowing you to process some of the painful feelings which have left you feeling distressed.
How I Work
In weekly 50 minute sessions, we can explore your feelings at a pace that suits you, without judgment. Our environment and how we are seen by other people may leave us feeling pressurised, dismissed or misunderstood. The relationships we have with others, or the relationships we lack or are estranged from, can be confusing, frustrating and deeply hurtful. Acknowledging your social reality, we can also be curious about unconscious beliefs which have created thought patterns that no longer serve you, and work together to release those patterns, freeing you to move forward. Evidence demonstrates that engaging with another person in a relational style of therapy allows the potential for deep change, rather than managing symptoms.
About Me
I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor and psychotherapist. Alongside my private practice, I was a senior counsellor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and over 4 and a half years there worked with medics and health scientists, many of whom were international. I have also taught counselling skills at the Minster Centre for psychotherapy training. I am a Registered Member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework, including ensuring your confidentiality.
